WiTourist review

WiTourist's deposit is €50 to €150, and the brand ranks 10 of 18 on deposit here. The rental covers unlimited data in Italy, with a Europe Pack reaching 32 countries. Budget for the deposit up front, then the plan fee for each rental.

Unlimited data in Italy is subject to a fair policy, with a daily cap on heavy use during the opening days of a rental, so it is fair use rather than a truly uncapped line. The Europe Pack adds data each month across 32 countries. WiTourist lists the terms as Unlimited with fair policy applied.

The Europe Pack covers 32 countries, and the brand is classed as regional rather than global. In Italy, coverage is the core of the plan; the wider pack is for the European leg of a trip. Networks listed are EDGE, GPRS and GSM, so the device also connects on older standards.

Hotspot sharing is included, and the device supports EDGE, GPRS and GSM, so a single unit can serve phones, tablets and a laptop. Between 5 to 256 can connect at once, which covers a group or a family on one rental. Sharing runs from one device, so the whole group can stay on a single plan.

Pickup and delivery is listed for Italy only, covering hotel reception, apartments, a FedEx Point, Fiumicino airport and a Rome office. That suits a short city trip, where the device can arrive at the address you book. Outside Italy, this pickup list does not apply.

Support runs on email, chat and phone, so help is available by phone, chat, email and through the help centre. The company behind the rental is Evolia Srl, based in Italy and trading since 2012. The plan and deposit are set out during online booking, before pickup.

Short trips are the core audience, and the plan design follows that: unlimited data in Italy, a Europe Pack for a wider leg, and a deposit of €50 to €150 held against the device. Longer or global itineraries sit outside this shape, since coverage is 32 countries and marked as regional.
