How BambooSIM compares

Frequently asked questions

What does a BambooSIM plan cost?+

Plans start at $4.95. A Europe plan is $11.95 and a United States plan is $15.99. Prices vary by country, and all plans are prepaid, so the amount is set before you travel.

How many countries does BambooSIM cover?+

BambooSIM covers from 200 countries, which is well above the site median of 74. Plans come as local, regional and global options, so a single trip across several countries can sit under one plan.

Is BambooSIM data unlimited?+

Unlimited data is available. The fair use policy still applies: no peer to peer file sharing, no continuous streaming or oversized file transfers, and no routers or proxies for multiple devices. A typical Wi-Fi hotspot is allowed.

Can I top up while I am travelling?+

Top-ups are no, so a plan has to cover the whole trip. All plans are prepaid and unused data cannot be carried over or refunded, which makes a generous plan the safer choice for longer stays.

Which networks does BambooSIM use?+

BambooSIM works on KDDI (au), SoftBank and AT&T. 5G is available on supported networks. Coverage quality therefore follows the local host network in each country rather than a single global network.

Who is BambooSIM suited to?+

BambooSIM suits budget travellers on short trips and longer stays who want prepaid data across many countries. It is run as an MVNO by BambooSIM Pty. Ltd., based in Australia, and sells local, regional and global plans.

How do I get help from BambooSIM?+

Support runs on help centre, email and chat. Help centre articles are the main route, with email and live chat alongside. Chat is the quicker option when a plan is about to activate.

Does BambooSIM support hotspot sharing?+

Yes, hotspot sharing is allowed for a typical Wi-Fi hotspot. Routers or proxies serving multiple devices are not permitted under the fair use policy, so the connection is meant for your own phone, tablet and laptop.
