Phenix Telecom suits travelers who want a pocket WiFi with unlimited data across 150 countries and a shareable hotspot for a group on the same trip. The daily price of €9.60 sits mid market, while the €150 deposit is the cost to weigh before booking.

Who it suits

  • Travellers crossing many borders on a single rental, where coverage of 150 countries and unlimited data matter more than a low day rate
  • Families and small groups who share a single unit, since hotspot sharing covers 5 devices at the same time
  • Long trips that outlast a short break, where unlimited data removes the need to watch a GB cap

Who should look elsewhere

  • QCell, where a deposit of GMD 5,000 on a different scale matters more than unlimited data
  • MobileWiFi, where a ZAR 29 day rate in another currency suits the trip better
  • WOM Chile, where a CLP 3,990 day rate points to a different market than a global rental

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Phenix Telecom pocket WiFi cost per day?+

The reference plan price is €9.60 for the rental, with unlimited data included. That sits against a €9.60 daily rate, so a longer trip adds up quickly, and a €150 deposit also applies.

Is the data really unlimited on the rental?+

Yes, the data allowance is listed as Unlimited, and unlimited data is confirmed as a feature. Nothing in the listed features points to a GB cap, so you can browse, stream and navigate without tracking usage.

How many countries does the coverage reach?+

Coverage runs to 150 countries, listed as a global region, well above the pocket WiFi median of 53. That suits itineraries that cross several borders on a single rental rather than a single destination.

Do I pay a deposit for the device?+

Yes, a deposit of €150 is held for the rental, against a pocket WiFi median of €47.65. Budget for it separately from the daily rate, and check the rental terms for how and when it comes back to you.

How do I get the device and send it back?+

Delivery is by post. The device is shipped to your address shortly before the rental starts, with DHL express delivery, and the return from metropolitan France, the DOM and Europe comes in a prepaid envelope. Daily charges of €9.60 apply from the start of the rental.

Who is behind Phenix Telecom?+

It is registered as Phenix Telecom SAS, RCS CRETEIL 425073517 and is based in France. The company lists 1999 as its founding year, and it sells as an mvno rather than a marketplace of many sellers, which is worth knowing before you book.

What support can I reach while I am travelling?+

Support runs through email, phone and help centre, so you can email, call or work through the help centre. That matters when the device travels by post, since having more than one way to reach the company helps if a unit arrives faulty.
