Our verdict

Kiwitaxi suits travelers who want a single airport or station transfer booked alongside the rest of a trip, and who prefer a clear price with free cancellation options. The booking side is narrow, though: transfers are the only product, so anyone arranging flights or a stay needs another site.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Transfers are the focus, so the booking flow stays narrow and easy to follow (transfers)
  • Free cancellation options let a family drop a transfer when a flight moves (Free cancellation options)
  • Booking fees are stated as no hidden fees, which keeps the quoted transfer price simple (No hidden fees)
  • A help centre is listed for questions about a booked transfer (help centre)

Cons

  • The product list covers transfers only, so a flight or a hotel has to be arranged elsewhere (transfers)
  • Support runs on a help centre only, with no other channel listed (help centre)
  • Compared with Emirates, which lists flights, hotels, tours, packages, car rental, transfers, parking and lounges, the booking scope here is far narrower (transfers against flights, hotels and tours)
  • Compared with Intrepid Travel, which adds packages, tours, cruise, rail and flights, there is nothing here to pair a transfer with (transfers against packages, tours and cruise)

Who it suits

  • Families landing at an airport or station who want the transfer booked before the flight
  • Travelers who want a quoted price with booking fees described as no hidden fees
  • Groups whose plans may change and who want free cancellation options on a transfer

Who should look elsewhere

  • Anyone booking the flight or the stay as well, since only transfers are listed here (transfers)
  • People who want a wider trip basket, such as the packages, tours and rail that Intrepid Travel lists (packages, tours and cruise)
  • Travelers who need a support channel beyond the help centre (help centre)

Fees and cancellation

The pricing story here is short. Booking fees are described as no hidden fees, so the transfer price shown is the working figure rather than a starting point with extras added later. On the other side, cancellation is listed as free cancellation options, which matters for a family booking around a flight: if the arrival time shifts or the trip is dropped, the transfer does not have to be defended. There is no subscription and no membership tier in the range, since the product list covers transfers only. Together the two points make a short, low risk booking, but a trip that needs a flight, a hotel or a tour alongside the transfer has to be assembled across more than one site.

How Kiwitaxi compares

Frequently asked questions

What can I actually book on Kiwitaxi?+

The product list covers transfers, and nothing else is listed. That means airport and station transfers can be arranged here, while flights, hotels and tours have to be booked on another site. It suits a traveler who already has the rest of the trip sorted.

Are there hidden fees on the price shown?+

Booking fees are described as no hidden fees, so the quoted transfer price is the figure to work from. There is no subscription or membership fee in the range, since the range covers a single product type.

What happens if my plans change?+

Cancellation is listed as free cancellation options, which is useful when a flight is retimed or a trip is called off. A family can drop a transfer without arguing over a penalty charge, though the terms for each booking still apply.

How do I get help with a booked transfer?+

Support runs on a help centre, and that is the only channel listed. Questions about a driver meeting point or a booking reference would go through it rather than a phone line or live chat, so it is worth keeping your confirmation to hand.

Is this a good fit for a family trip?+

It fits well when the family only needs the transfer arranged, since the booking is narrow and easy to follow, and the price is quoted without hidden fees. If the group also needs a flight, a hotel or a tour, the booking has to be spread across more than one site.

Can I book a transfer together with my flight?+

No flight product is listed here, so the two cannot be booked in one basket. Emirates lists flights and transfers together, which is the closer fit for anyone who wants the arrival covered end to end.

What should I compare before choosing a transfer site?+

Start with the product list, because a site that only covers transfers leaves the rest of the trip open. Then look at booking fees and cancellation, both of which shape what a change of plan costs. Čedok and Intrepid Travel both list far more products alongside transfers.
