Our verdict

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Hotels and packages sit under one roof in hotels and packages, so a bed and a holiday plan can be booked together
  • Free cancellation up to 72 hours before gives groups room to reorganise dates without losing money
  • Support reaches email, phone and help centre, which covers the phone and chat calls families tend to make before a large booking
  • Extra charges are flagged openly with Taxes not included in rates, so the checkout total is easier to anticipate than on sites that bury costs
  • Compared with Emirates, the product list is narrower: hotels and packages against flights, hotels and tours

Cons

  • The rate shown is not the final bill, because Taxes not included in rates, so the headline price is not what a family finally pays
  • Bookings cover hotels and packages only, narrower than flights, hotels and tours, and no flights sit alongside a room
  • The hotel brand operates as NYX DEVELOPMENT SA DE CV in Mexico, so a group booking holds no airline or rail operator to fall back on, unlike flights, packages and tours
  • Support is limited to email, phone and help centre, with no branch or in-person desk listed for larger group arrangements

Visit

Who it suits

  • Travellers booking a bed plus extras in one place, since hotels and packages covers hotels and packages
  • Anyone who reads the total before committing, given Taxes not included in rates

Who should look elsewhere

  • Travellers who want flights booked in the same place, since hotels and packages is limited to hotels and packages
  • Multi-destination trippers who need a rail or cruise component alongside the stay, as listed for Čedok
  • Bookers who need a branch or counter, with support running on email, phone and help centre only

Fees and cancellation

The rate you see is the room, not the total. Extra charges sit outside it, as Taxes not included in rates shows, and that matters most for a group where every room carries the same cost and the sum runs into real money. Flexibility is the part that works well for families, since Free cancellation up to 72 hours before leaves a group that loses a member or shifts a flight room to adjust without forfeiting the booking. Bookings cover hotels and packages, so a room can be bundled with a package rather than assembled separately. Families weighing broader itineraries can see how much wider the choice is at Emirates, where flights, hotels and tours adds flights, transfers and car hire to the same booking.

Who runs it

The hotel is booked from the brand itself, with the operating entity listed as NYX DEVELOPMENT SA DE CV and the home country given as MX. That matters for a group organiser, since the contract is with the hotel operator rather than a third-party reseller. Help runs on email, phone and help centre, so questions about room blocks, late arrivals and payment timing can go to several routes at once. The trade-off is scope: a single hotel brand with one support desk, not the wider product spread flights, hotels and tours covers for a trip that starts at home.

How Hotel NYX Cancun Mexico compares

Frequently asked questions

What does a stay at Hotel NYX Cancun Mexico actually cost?+

The headline rate covers the room only, because Taxes not included in rates. For a group booking across several rooms that difference multiplies quickly, so the final total sits above the advertised price. Packages listed in hotels and packages may bundle extras, though the tax position still applies to the base rate.

Can a family cancel a booking without losing the money?+

Yes. Free cancellation up to 72 hours before applies, so a group can reshuffle dates or room numbers if a flight moves or a traveller drops out. The cut-off is stated plainly rather than tied to a deposit release schedule, which helps when the whole party is still confirming.

Can I book flights and the hotel together?+

Not here. hotels and packages covers hotels and packages only, so flights have to be arranged separately. Emirates bundles flights, hotels and tours in one place, and Čedok lists flights, packages and tours, which both suit travellers who want the journey and the stay on a single booking.

Who is behind the booking?+

The operating company is NYX DEVELOPMENT SA DE CV, registered in Mexico. That is the party a group organiser holds the contract with, rather than an intermediary selling rooms on someone else's behalf. It is a hotel brand, so anything beyond the stay sits outside the contract.

How do I reach someone about a group booking?+

Support runs on email, phone and help centre, so room blocks, payment timing and arrival questions can go by phone, email, chat or the help centre. Several routes in one place helps when different members of a group are sorting details at the same time. Anything needing a face-to-face meeting sits outside email, phone and help centre.

Does this suit a longer trip across several countries?+

Less so. A single property in MX covers one destination rather than a route, and hotels and packages holds nothing beyond hotels and packages. Intrepid Travel offers packages, tours and cruise for travellers who want a multi-stop trip built around guided legs.

Is a package better than booking the room on its own?+

Packages sit alongside hotels in hotels and packages, so they are worth checking for extras already folded in. The position on Taxes not included in rates still applies, so compare the full total rather than the package headline. A group that only needs beds is usually happier booking rooms directly.
