Who it suits

  • Short trips to France and Europe who want the device posted to their home before departure
  • Longer trips kept inside the 43 countries served
  • Groups sharing one connection across 10 to 20 devices

Who should look elsewhere

  • Travelers after the lowest listed daily rate, where WOM Chile at CLP 3,990 is worth a look
  • Readers who want a local carrier deposit rather than rental hardware, since QCell asks GMD 5,000
  • Anyone pricing a different pocket WiFi daily rate, with MobileWiFi at ZAR 29 as the comparison

Where it works

Coverage reaches 43 countries on a regional footprint rather than a global one, so it suits trips that stay within a single region rather than those crossing continents. The hardware is 5G, and reference plans list unlimited internet across Europe, the USA and Canada, subject to fair use, which sets the practical shape of the map.

How it compares on our data

On daily price, HippocketWifi sits at position 19 of 59 brands listed, with rentals starting at €3.95. On deposit it ranks 13 of 18, with €150 to €250 held. The deposit is the line to weigh on a short booking, since it is held separately from the rental itself.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a HippocketWifi pocket WiFi cost per day?+

Rentals start at €3.95, and the reference plans list pocket WiFi rental from the same daily rate with unlimited internet. The daily price on our rankings places it at position 19 of 59 brands.

What data allowance do I get?+

Allowances are 1GB/day or Unlimited, so you can pick a capped daily allowance or an unlimited plan. Unlimited data is offered, and fair use limits still apply to those plans, so heavy streaming is not the intended use.

Is there a deposit, and how much?+

A deposit of €150 to €250 is taken and is returned when the device comes back. A prepaid return envelope is included, which keeps the return simple. On deposit our rankings place it at 13 of 18.

How do I get the device before I travel?+

Pickup and delivery is free to any address in France and Europe, with pickup points across France as a fallback. Pre-departure home delivery also goes to the USA, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Qatar.

Can I share the connection with other devices?+

Hotspot sharing is supported, and 10 to 20 devices can be connected at once, which suits a group traveling together. The hardware is 5G, so several phones and a laptop can stay online on the same pocket WiFi.

Which countries does HippocketWifi cover?+

The service covers 43 countries on a regional basis, with reference plans for Europe, the USA and Canada. Because the footprint is regional rather than global, trips that cross continents sit outside its reach.

Who does this service suit?+

Its audience covers short trip and long trip trips, which suits a weekend in France and a longer European break in the same way. It suits anyone who wants a device posted to their home address before departure rather than a single-market plan.

How do I get help if something goes wrong?+

Support runs on email, phone and help centre, so help is available by email, by phone and through the help centre. The legal entity is HIPPODEV SARL, based in France, and it has been running since 2013.
