Pros and cons
Bitel
Pros
- Unlimited data on a fair use basis: speed drops once the high speed allowance is used up
- Coverage in 200 countries, with Bitel own network in Peru (5G) and More than 360 roaming partner networks
- 5G on Bitel's own network in Peru, plus top-ups on prepaid plans
Cons
- Hotspot sharing is not available
- Unlimited data runs at reduced speed once the high speed allowance is used up
- Prices are in PEN, so costs depend on the sol you pay in Peru
Claro Peru
Pros
- Pasaporte Claro bundles data with minutes, SMS and messaging, and top-ups are available
- Plans sit on the regular Claro bill with instant activation
- Support runs on email, chat and phone
Cons
- Hotspot sharing is listed as no, so the line cannot share data with a laptop or tablet
- Unlimited data is listed as no, and a fair use policy applies an automatic MB cap on roaming by zone
- Europe and UK coverage needs the costliest plan listed, and Japan, Thailand and Turkey are pay as you go only
Who each suits
Bitel
Who it suits
- Peru-based travelers heading abroad who want one plan rather than per-country purchases
- Short trips and long trips both fit the prepaid and postpaid range
- Readers who care more about country count and unlimited data than hotspot use
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone who needs hotspot sharing while abroad, where eSIMGo.is is the more flexible pick
- Travelers who want a dollar-denominated plan, since MTN lists fees of NGN 5,000 in NGN and SimToIsrael lists $25
Claro Peru
Who it suits
- Claro Peru subscribers who want international data on the bill they already have
- Travellers crossing the Andean and Americas zones inside a regular Claro plan
- Short breaks where a bundled data, minutes and messaging add-on is easier than setting up a new eSIM
Who should look elsewhere
- Travellers who need hotspot sharing or unlimited data, as neither is among its plan features (5g, instant activation and carrier plan), and should look at eSIMGo.is or Zwitchy
- Anyone planning a Europe or UK trip on a budget, since that coverage sits in the costliest plan listed and eSIMGo.is is the cheaper comparison
- International visitors without a Claro line, who should consider SimToIsrael or Zwitchy instead

Questions about each
Bitel
How much does Bitel cost?+
Bitel lists fees of PEN 29.90 on its postpaid plan. Prices are in PEN, so the cost you pay depends on the rate when you buy. Prepaid plans with top-ups sit alongside the postpaid option, which keeps costs flexible for a short trip.
Does Bitel have unlimited data?+
Yes, unlimited data sits among the plan features, unlimited data, 5g and carrier plan. A fair use policy applies though, so once your high speed allowance is spent the connection stays on but runs at a slower rate. Browsing and messaging carry on, while heavy streaming slows for the rest of the period.
Claro Peru
What does international data cost?+
Travel coverage starts at PEN 29.90, and the Pasaporte Claro add-on bundles data, minutes, SMS and messaging for a fixed window. Outside those plans, roaming is charged per MB by zone, with the lowest rate in the Claro zone. Europe and UK travel sits in the most expensive plan listed.
Which countries does Claro Peru cover?+
Coverage runs 17 to 35 countries, split across regional and global roaming zones. The Americas plans reach the Andean region, the US, Mexico and Canada, while a separate plan covers Europe and the UK. Japan, Thailand and Turkey are reached on the pay as you go rate only.
