What is Hotspot sharing?
In short
Hotspot sharing lets you connect a laptop or tablet to your phone and use the plan's data that way.
Hotspot sharing, also called tethering, means connecting another device such as a laptop or tablet to your phone and sending the plan's data through it. It is the difference between a plan that covers one traveler and one that can carry a laptop for a few days of work. Most providers here allow it, but 3 Denmark does not, so a traveler working on the move would rule it out. Where tethering is allowed, speeds can still be reduced: 2degrees notes that hotspotting speeds may drop during network congestion. Also weigh the allowance, since tethered data comes out of the same pool as data used on the phone itself.
