What is Deposit?
In short
A deposit is money a travel eSIM or pocket WiFi seller holds before handing over a device, and the amount and currency differ from seller to seller.
A deposit is money a seller takes before handing over a device, as cover for loss or damage. The sums cannot be compared at a glance because each seller lists its own currency. Cherry Roam asks a deposit of PHP 2,000, and CHiLi lists a deposit of MUR 2,000 to MUR 5,000, which runs across a range. LG Uplus asks more than either, with a deposit of KRW 70,000. At the smaller end, Hertz Bahamas WiFi holds $250 and HippocketWifi €150 to €250. Compare amounts only within the same currency, and ask what the deposit covers and how you recover it.
