Frequently asked questions
What does a Vodafone Qatar roaming pack cost?+
A daily pack is QAR 35 with 1 GB, and the longer pack lengths start at QAR 320. Prices are set in QAR, so the currency differs from plans quoted in US dollars.
How many countries does the plan cover?+
The global Passport pack reaches 180 countries, with named destinations including the US, Europe, the UK, Japan, Thailand, Turkey and Mexico. Roam Like Home packs convert local plan allowances in a smaller set of countries.
Is unlimited data really unlimited?+
Unlimited data is offered, and the unlimited plan data is marked as subject to fair use. Call and data caps both apply, so the allowance is not open ended in practice once those fair use limits are reached.
What happens if I use more than the pack allowance?+
Once the pack allowance is consumed, extra usage falls back to standard roaming rates. Treat the listed QAR 35 as the pack price for 1 GB rather than an overage rate, and plan a separate top-up if you need more.
Who runs the network?+
Vodafone Qatar P.Q.S.C. is the operator, a carrier rather than a marketplace seller, headquartered in Qatar and running there since 2009. The network used abroad is Vodafone.
How do I get support while travelling?+
Support runs on email, chat and phone, covering questions before the trip and problems while roaming. Top-ups are available, so a balance can be added without visiting a store, and instant activation is part of the plan.
Is a deposit needed?+
A deposit of QAR 2,000 applies on the prepaid terms. That sits well above the €50 median in the pocket WiFi listing, so check the balance held before booking a long roaming trip.
What does the data cost per GB?+
Per GB, plans across this listing run €0.81 to €131.54, with a median of €1.50. The daily allowance of 1 GB sits at the heavier end of that range.
