Our verdict
UZO is a Portuguese carrier plan for travellers who want a local SIM with unlimited data at a headline price of €5. It suits short trips and longer stays inside the EEA and the UK, where roaming runs at the national rate, though a responsible use policy caps what you can use abroad.

Pros and cons
Pros
- unlimited data, 5g and carrier plan puts unlimited data and a carrier plan on the same tariff, with EEA and UK roaming still subject to the responsible use policy.
- Roaming in the EEA and the UK runs at the national rate, with incoming calls free.
- Top-ups are available, so extra data does not mean changing plan.
- Help is reachable by phone, chat and help centre.
Cons
- Support runs on phone, chat and help centre only.
- The local scope suits regional trips around Portugal and the EEA rather than a worldwide eSIM.
Who it suits
- Travellers landing in Portugal who want unlimited data on a local carrier line before moving around Europe.
- Holidaymakers who care more about free incoming calls in the EEA and the UK than worldwide reach.
- Longer stays that may need extra data, since top-ups are available.
Who should look elsewhere
- Travellers with a worldwide itinerary, who will find eSIMGo.is at $0.99 a cheaper way in.
- Anyone shopping for a single country's data, where SimToIsrael at $25 is the simpler comparison.
- Travellers who prefer to buy a travel pass in advance, as MTN does at NGN 5,000.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a UZO plan cost?+
The cheapest tariff starts at €5, and the smallest data bundle is €5. Higher tiers add more data, and an unlimited option is listed too, on a local carrier line rather than a marketplace eSIM. Prices are quoted in euros.
Is the data really unlimited?+
UZO lists unlimited data, 5g and carrier plan as its plan features, so the unlimited tier comes with the newest mobile network generation and a carrier plan. The catch is the fair use policy: roaming in the EEA and the UK is capped, and EU roaming on the unlimited plan is subject to it. A surcharge can also apply based on how much you use and where you roam.
Which places can I use it in?+
The plan is a local one (local), aimed at Portugal and the wider region. Roaming in the EEA and the UK is included at the national rate with incoming calls free, and Ukraine and Moldova are included at the national rate too. Calls to the United States, Japan, Thailand, Turkey and Mexico are charged per minute, so check those before you dial.
Who is this plan built for?+
UZO lists short trip and long trip as its audiences, so quick escapes and longer breaks are in scope. The local carrier setup suits a traveller landing in Portugal and moving around Europe, rather than someone chasing an eSIM that works in every country.
Is this an eSIM or a normal carrier plan?+
UZO is a carrier (carrier) rather than a marketplace, and unlimited data, 5g and carrier plan lists carrier plans. It is based in Portugal, so you get a Portuguese mobile line with its own roaming terms, sold by the operator itself rather than a third party shop.
What support do I get?+
Support runs on phone, chat and help centre, covering a phone line, live chat and a help centre. Because UZO is the carrier itself rather than a reseller, the people answering work on the same plan you hold. The plan features, unlimited data, 5g and carrier plan, list no separate activation app.
Can I add more data if I run low?+
Top-ups are available, and the smaller data bundle is priced at €5, so extra data does not mean buying a whole new line. With short trip and long trip audiences in mind, that suits a trip running longer than the plan first covered.
How fast is the network?+
The newest mobile network generation is included with the plan features, unlimited data, 5g and carrier plan, alongside unlimited data. Because UZO operates as a carrier in Portugal, the connection runs on the operator's own network. Roaming terms are listed for the EEA and the UK.
