Our verdict
Telesur is the carrier eSIM for trips out of Suriname, with prices starting at SRD 237 and support from the same company that sells the plan. It suits travellers who want to collect an eSIM in Suriname and keep a regional footprint, not anyone mapping a worldwide route.

Pros and cons
Pros
- Support runs on email, phone and help centre, and top-ups are available.
- Set up in person: Pickup and activation at a Telesur branch in Suriname, with instant activation listed in 5g, instant activation and carrier plan.
- From an operator founded in 1981, with bigger bundles listed for the USA, Europe and Brazil.
Cons
- The footprint is 7 countries and listed as regional, so a multi-country route will outrun it.
- Unlimited data: no. Every bundle is capped, starting at 1 GB per 8 days.
- Data in a bundle has to be used before the validity period closes, on prepaid and postpaid plans alike.
Who it suits
- Travellers leaving Suriname who can collect an eSIM at a Telesur branch.
- Short and long trips that stay inside the regional list, matching short trip and long trip.
- Anyone who wants help from the carrier itself by email, phone and help centre.
Who should look elsewhere
- Travellers on a worldwide itinerary, who should look at Zwitchy with 200 countries covered.
- Anyone comparing only the entry price, since eSIMGo.is lists $0.99.
- People who want a single destination plan, such as SimToIsrael at $25.
Where it works
Telesur is a regional plan covering 7 countries, and 5G is available on it. The network list runs to Verizon Wireless, T Mobile and AT&T, which pulls in the large hosts across the USA and Europe plus Brazil. Good for a trip out of Suriname, thin for a route that crosses several other regions.

Frequently asked questions
How much do the eSIM plans cost?+
Bundles start at SRD 237 for the entry package, and bigger allowances are listed separately for the USA, Europe and Brazil. Longer validity and more data cost more, so the cheapest way in is the smallest bundle. Top-ups are there if you run out mid-trip.
How much data is included and how long does it last?+
The entry bundle gives 1 GB per 8 days, and larger bundles stretch the validity period and the allowance together. Because the cap applies per bundle, heavy browsing is easy to burn through, so pick the size against the length of your trip.
Is the data unlimited?+
Unlimited data: no. Every bundle is capped, beginning at 1 GB per 8 days on the entry package, and the larger options simply add allowance over a longer validity. If you stream or browse heavily, you are counting gigabytes against a limit rather than using the network freely.
What happens to data I do not use?+
The bundle runs on a use it or lose it basis. Anything still in the allowance when the validity period closes does not carry forward, and the same applies on prepaid and postpaid plans. A bundle such as 1 GB per 8 days is therefore sized for the trip length, not banked as a monthly allowance.
How do I get the eSIM and switch it on?+
Pickup and activation at a Telesur branch in Suriname, and instant activation is part of the plan, listed among 5g, instant activation and carrier plan. You are not relying on a third-party activation service, since Telesur is a carrier selling its own roaming package. Expect to sort the setup in Suriname before departure.
Where does it work?+
Coverage spans 7 countries in a regional footprint, and the plan runs on Verizon Wireless, T Mobile and AT&T. That is plenty for a trip out of Suriname, but it is not a worldwide eSIM, so check the country list before you commit to a multi-country route.
Can I top up while I am away?+
Top-ups: yes. They run through the same carrier setup, and 5g, instant activation and carrier plan lists instant activation and a carrier plan rather than a marketplace product. The plan is aimed at short trip and long trip kinds of trip, so adding data partway through a holiday fits the normal flow.
How does the price compare with a global eSIM?+
The entry bundle is quoted in local currency at SRD 237, while global sellers quote figures such as $0.99 from eSIMGo.is, and 7 countries covered is a fraction of the 200 countries Zwitchy covers. You are paying for a local carrier plan, not breadth.
