Our verdict
Progresif suits short trips and long trips that stay inside Asia, with unlimited data, 5G and instant activation from a carrier based in Brunei. Coverage of 76 countries leaves wide multi-continent trips short, and unlimited plans come with a daily fair use threshold.

Pros and cons
Pros
- Prices start at BND 4, and the Japan plan is BND 25.
- Unlimited data, 5G and instant activation are all listed under unlimited data, 5g and instant activation.
- Top-ups are available, so more data can be added part way through a trip.
- Support runs on email, chat and phone, so phone and chat sit alongside email.
Cons
- Unlimited data under unlimited data, 5g and instant activation carries a fair use policy that cuts speed once a daily threshold is passed.
- Coverage of 76 countries is well short of the widest lists on the market.
- Country coverage ranks 151 of 303 brands, which is mid-table.
Who it suits
- Travellers on Asia trips who want unlimited data, with 5G and instant activation listed under unlimited data, 5g and instant activation.
- Short trips and long trips both sit in its stated audience, per short trip and long trip.
- Buyers who want a carrier eSIM rather than a long marketplace list such as Zwitchy's.
Who should look elsewhere
- Zwitchy shoppers after the longest country list, at 200 countries.
- eSIMGo.is buyers shopping mainly on entry price, at $0.99.
- SimToIsrael customers who prefer its own price point, at $25.
Coverage and networks
Coverage runs to 76 countries, sold as regional plans rather than a single worldwide pass. The eSIMs connect to T Mobile, Verizon and KDDI, and 5G is supported on those networks where the host offers it. Because the plans are regional, a trip that crosses regions means more than one eSIM.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a Progresif travel eSIM cost?+
Prices start at BND 4, and the Japan plan is BND 25. Reference plans for the UK, Thailand, Turkey and Australia are listed alongside a wider Asia regional plan, which costs more than any single country option.
Is the data really unlimited?+
Unlimited data is available, and it also sits in the feature list under unlimited data, 5g and instant activation. A fair use policy applies: once more than a daily data threshold is used, speed drops, and full speed comes back the next day.
Does Progresif support 5G?+
Yes, 5G is supported. The eSIMs run on T Mobile, Verizon and KDDI, so 5G service follows the host network in each country and a 5G-capable handset is needed to see the higher speeds.
Which countries does a Progresif eSIM cover?+
Coverage runs to 76 countries across regional plans. The Asia regional plan covers a wide area, while single-country plans are sold for destinations such as Japan, the UK, Thailand, Turkey and Australia.
How do I reach Progresif support?+
Support runs on email, chat and phone, so phone and chat sit alongside email. That mix suits travellers who would rather call than wait on email, and a help centre covers setup questions.
Who is behind Progresif?+
Progresif is a carrier rather than a marketplace, per carrier, and the legal entity is Progresif Sdn Bhd. The company was founded in 2014 and is based in Brunei.
Can I add data during my trip?+
Top-ups are available, so a regional plan started for a short trip can be topped up if plans change. That avoids buying a second eSIM mid-journey, though the trip still stays inside the region the plan covers.
How quickly does the eSIM activate?+
Instant activation is listed in unlimited data, 5g and instant activation, next to unlimited data, 5G and carrier plans. Both short trips and long trips sit in its stated audience, per short trip and long trip, so the eSIM is set up before departure rather than at the airport.
