MTN Ghana review

Plans start at GHS 21.18, and the price changes by destination, so a Japan plan with a larger data allowance is GHS 193.60. Reference plan prices run from a cheaper Bulgaria option through Australia, Germany, France, China and Japan, with Canada the priciest of the listed destinations.

Unlimited data is listed among the plan features (unlimited data, 5g and instant activation), but it sits inside a fair use policy. High-speed data is allowed up to a set daily limit, then speeds are cut back, so heavy streaming or large downloads will feel slower once that limit is reached.

Coverage reaches from 200 countries, with both regional and global plans listed under regional and global. That suits a trip crossing several borders on one plan rather than a single-market holiday, and the plan is offered for both short and long trips under short trip and long trip.

The fair use policy allows a set amount of high-speed data per day, then reduces the speed, and the allowance resets every day. Unlimited data stays in place, so the connection continues at a slower pace, and support runs on email, chat and phone if you need the exact limit for your plan.

Five G is available, and instant activation is listed among the plan features (unlimited data, 5g and instant activation), so a connection can be set up without waiting for anything to be posted or configured. Coverage across from 200 countries also means the network is a large one to rely on between borders.

The eSIM is run by Scancom PLC, the Ghanaian network operator, and is sold as a carrier plan (carrier) rather than through a marketplace seller. Prices are quoted in Ghanaian cedis, starting at GHS 21.18, which is worth checking before comparing with brands priced in other currencies.

Top-ups are available, and support runs on email, chat and phone, so data can be added and a person reached without visiting a store. Plans start at GHS 21.18, which makes topping up an existing eSIM cheaper than buying a second one for the same trip.

Entry price is GHS 21.18, which sits above the cheapest on the comparison list: eSIMGo.is starts at $0.99, and SimToIsrael starts at $25. Both are worth a look when the carrier network itself matters less than the starting price.
