Movistar Colombia review

Plans start at COP 13,000. In the wide zone covering Europe, the UK, Japan, Turkey, India, Australia and the US, a mid-sized package is COP 40,990, while a Japan package is also COP 40,990. The America zone is cheaper, at COP 31,000.

The plan reaches 64 countries across two zones. One covers Europe, the UK, Japan, Turkey, India, Australia and the US, the other covers the US, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America. Thailand is not in the published destination list.

Unlimited data is offered, and it comes with a fair use policy. The unlimited package allows a daily megabyte allowance in the rest of the world, and navigation closes once the defined capacities are reached, so heavy streaming can be throttled.

Hotspot sharing is included, which is useful if you are travelling with a laptop or a tablet. It is one of the listed plan features, alongside unlimited data and carrier plan options, so you can share your connection without buying a separate router.

The seller type is a carrier rather than a marketplace, and the legal entity is OBI Colombia Telecomunicaciones S.A. E.S.P., based in Colombia. That means you buy a roaming add-on from a network operator with its own support channels, not a third-party eSIM seller.

Support runs on chat, phone and help centre, so you can reach the carrier by phone, chat, a help centre or the community. You can also top up while travelling, which keeps a long trip running without waiting for a new plan.

It suits short trips and long trips. Packages start at COP 13,000 and are sold across a spread of validity windows, and a prepaid eSIM roaming option sits alongside the carrier packages, so a longer trip can run on one bundle instead of repeated top-ups.

Entry pricing of COP 13,000 sits against a site median of €5, and this plan offers unlimited data, which only 57.2% of the brands in the comparison do. Price per GB medians run €1.50 across the field.
