Mascom review

The pocket WiFi charges a daily price of BWP 18 with an allowance of 1 GB per day, and the allowance resets each day. That structure suits a short regional hop, where a traveler wants a predictable daily cost rather than a large bundle bought up front.

Roaming bundles reach 5 destinations on the MTN partner network, with a regional rather than global footprint. Reference bundles start small and scale to a larger allowance over a longer validity, so the plan fits a neighboring-market trip rather than a multi-continent one.

Mascom is a carrier rather than a marketplace, founded in 1998 and headquartered in Botswana, trading as Mascom (Pty) Ltd. The offering is sold as a carrier plan, so the plan runs on the operator's own network arrangements rather than a list of third-party sellers.

The fair use policy limits use to personal purposes, with the bundle meant for travelers rather than commercial traffic. A traveler running a laptop or work email abroad sits outside the intended use, so a business-focused provider suits that case better.

Pickup is available: Pickup at Mascom shops and service points, so the pocket WiFi is collected in person instead of being shipped. Support also runs on email, chat and phone, giving a help center, chat, email and phone for questions before departure and while abroad.

Top-ups are available, so extra data can be added as a trip continues rather than committing to a large bundle at the start. This matters on a roaming plan, because once the included allowance is spent or the bundle expires, out-of-bundle pay-as-you-surf rates apply to further use.

Entry bundles start at BWP 19, and the pocket WiFi daily rate is BWP 18. Small reference bundles suit a short hop, while a larger allowance over a longer validity suits a longer regional run, so the right pick depends on trip length rather than headline price alone.
