Frequently asked questions
How many countries does this plan cover?+
Coverage runs to 58 countries as a regional offer, delivered over the KPN network. short trip and long trip marks it for both short trips and long trips, so the setup suits a weekend away and a month away alike. If your route leaves Europe, the country list is the first thing to weigh.
Is the data allowance really unlimited?+
Unlimited data is included, and unlimited data, 5g and instant activation pairs it with instant activation on a carrier plan. The fair use policy still applies: once the NL and EU bundle is used up, speeds in NL and the EU are cut, and monthly data costs abroad are capped outside the extra bundle unless you give consent by SMS.
Can I share data with a laptop from this plan?+
Hotspot sharing is not offered, so you cannot tether a laptop or tablet from the same plan. Most plans listed here do allow it, at 85.9%, so a listing built for tethering may suit a working trip better.
Who sells this, and which company do you deal with?+
The seller type is a carrier, carrier, and the legal entity is KPN B.V., based in the Netherlands. unlimited data, 5g and instant activation lists a carrier plan rather than a marketplace product, and help is offered by phone, in a help centre and through a community.
How does the coverage compare with wider travel eSIMs?+
KPN Residential NL covers 58 countries, narrower than Zwitchy at 200 and eSIMGo.is at 190, and wider than SimToIsrael at 1 country. Pick by route rather than by count alone.
Does it work for a long trip as well as a short one?+
short trip and long trip points to both short trips and long trips, and top-ups are supported when a stay runs past the bundle. The roaming cost cap still applies, so a traveller away for weeks should read the fair use terms before leaving.
What support can I reach if something goes wrong abroad?+
Support runs on phone, help centre and community, so phone, help centre and community are all open to you. With carrier being a carrier, the same operator handles the home subscription and the roaming bundle, which keeps one point of contact.
Do I have to wait before the plan is live?+
unlimited data, 5g and instant activation lists instant activation, so there is no long wait to get going once the plan is active. Because carrier is a carrier, the bundle is structured around NL and EU usage with a fair use cap on top of it.
