Our verdict
Iliad Italia sells a carrier plan for short trips, with plans from €3.99 and a club scheme reaching 110 countries. It suits travellers already based in Italy who want roaming on a home SIM, not people looking for a travel-only eSIM that needs no Italian connection.

Pros and cons
Pros
- Club coverage of 110 countries, above the 74 median across these listings.
- Sold by the carrier itself, Iliad Italia S.p.A., rather than a reseller, with 5G and top-ups available.
- Support runs on phone and help centre from the same company that runs the network.
Cons
- Unlimited data is not offered, so the plan allowance is the ceiling on a heavy-use trip.
- The correct-use policy expects a stable link with Italy and a habitual residence there, holds roaming to a set share of total traffic, and adds surcharges for non-compliance.
- Coverage of 110 countries is narrower than Zwitchy at 200 for trips well beyond Europe.
Who it suits
- Travellers with a habitual residence in Italy who want roaming on a home carrier plan rather than a travel-only product.
- Readers who want the operator named: Iliad Italia S.p.A., based in Italy.
- Short trips where a small allowance is enough and 5G access is a bonus.
Who should look elsewhere
- Zwitchy, for trips that cross more continents, with coverage of 200 countries.
- eSIMGo.is, when the starting price matters more than carrier ownership, at $0.99.
- SimToIsrael, to weigh a higher entry price, $25, against a carrier-owned roaming plan.
The company behind it
Iliad Italia is sold by Iliad Italia S.p.A., a carrier headquartered in Italy, so the plan comes from the network operator rather than a reseller. Support runs on phone and help centre, with phone and help-centre contact from the same company. For a trip plan, that means roaming bundles and account questions stay with the carrier itself.

Frequently asked questions
How much do Iliad Italia's roaming plans cost?+
Plans start at €3.99. The entry bundle is aimed at Europe, including the UK, with separate plans priced for Switzerland and for the USA and Canada, and a larger bundle reaching 110 countries. Top-ups are available when you run low.
Is the data unlimited?+
Unlimited data is not offered, so the allowance in the plan you choose is the ceiling, and a correct-use policy expects roaming to stay within a set share of your total traffic. Bundles are sold for short trips, with a wider option covering 110 countries.
Which countries does the plan cover?+
Coverage is the reason to look here: the club scheme spans 110 countries, and the region mix is listed as regional and global, so you are not locked to one home market. Plans are split by area, with Europe including the UK, Switzerland, and the USA and Canada on separate bundles.
Do I have to live in Italy to use it?+
The correct-use policy expects a stable link with Italy and a habitual residence there, with usage monitored over a minimum period and surcharges for non-compliance. That makes this a home line for Italian residents rather than an airport-bought traveller product. Support runs on phone and help centre.
Is it a travel eSIM or a normal SIM?+
It is a carrier plan from Iliad Italia S.p.A., run on the operator's own network, with 5G included and top-ups available. The line is tied to the company's own bundles, so roaming abroad is an add-on to a home account rather than a standalone travel eSIM activated before departure.
How do I get help?+
Support runs on phone and help centre, so phone and help-centre contact come from the carrier that sells the plan. That keeps roaming questions and bundle changes with the same company, which suits anyone already managing an Italian mobile account and suits a one-off trip abroad less well.
How does the price compare with the other options?+
Entry is €3.99, below the €5 recorded across these listings, and the site median price per GB is €1.50. For a wider map, Zwitchy lists 200 countries against 110 here, so the trade is a lower starting price for a narrower map.
