Hormuud Telecom review

The seller type is listed as carrier, and Hormuud Telecom runs its own roaming plans instead of passing a third-party eSIM through a marketplace. Pricing therefore comes from the operator's own plan rather than a reseller's markup, which is the main difference readers notice.

Plans are listed from $3, below the €5 median starting price across the site, and Hormuud Telecom sits at position 73 of 313 brands on that measure. Because it is a carrier plan, the price covers the roaming itself.

Coverage starts at from 32 countries, a narrower opening than the 74 median for eSIM plans on the site. Travellers whose itinerary spans a long country list should check the full list before they pay for a plan.

The network listing reads over 300 partner operators, so the carrier places you on a partner operator in each country rather than offering a choice of hosts on arrival. Readers who want to lock onto a named network locally will have less say over the selection.

Yes. The region is listed as global, and the company is based in Somalia, so its roaming plans are sold to travellers well outside its home market. Availability still follows the country list rather than working everywhere by default.

The only feature listed is carrier plan, and unlimited data is not among the features recorded. Any data allowance and fair-use terms therefore sit with the individual roaming plan, so check the plan chosen for a long trip before you pay.

For a wider country list, Zwitchy covers 200 countries. On entry price, eSIMGo.is lists from $0.99 and SimToIsrael from $25, both against $3 for Hormuud Telecom.
