Pros and cons
Pros
- One plan spans from 120 countries as a global eSIM, so a multi-stop itinerary needs no second purchase.
- The travel eSIMs carry no overage charges, and top-ups are available when the allowance runs short.
- Support runs through help centre and phone, with instant activation listed among the plan features.
Cons
- Unlimited data is not offered, so every plan carries a data cap.
- Price per GB of $10 is high, so heavy use across a long trip adds up.
- Support runs on help centre and phone, so help means a phone line or the help centre rather than live chat.
Who it suits
- Travellers on a long trip who want one carrier plan across from 120 countries instead of an eSIM per country.
- People who prefer a data cap with top-ups available over a throttled unlimited plan.
Who should look elsewhere
- Price-first shoppers, since eSIMGo.is lists plans from $0.99 against CAD 10 here.
- Anyone after unlimited data for heavy streaming, since unlimited data is not offered on this range.
- Trippers who want the widest country list, since Zwitchy covers 200 countries.
Where it works
The travel eSIM reaches from 120 countries and is sold as a global plan rather than for a single market. 5G is listed among its features, so the plan runs on newer networks in the countries it covers. A count well above what a regional seller would offer lets one activation carry a traveller through several stops without a second purchase.
How it compares on our data
On price from, Freedom Mobile sits at 184 of 313 brands in our data, past the midpoint. Price per GB lands at 105 of 115, a similar spot. Readers ranking on cost should treat both figures as the expensive end of the range here.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a Freedom Mobile travel eSIM cost?+
Plans start at CAD 10 and come in a small data size and a larger one, aimed at a long trip rather than a quick break. The travel eSIMs carry no overage charges, so passing the data allowance does not add a bill. Top-ups are available when a plan runs out mid-journey.
What does the data cost per GB?+
The starting price per GB is $10, and that is the figure to check before buying a larger plan. It sits in the dearer part of the range on this site, so a long trip with heavy use costs more than a budget eSIM bought for a single week.
How many countries does the travel eSIM cover?+
The plan reaches from 120 countries and is sold as a global plan, so one activation can cover several stops on a long trip. It is aimed at long journeys rather than a short escape, and 5G is available on the network for the destinations it reaches.
Is there an unlimited data option?+
Unlimited data is not offered on the travel eSIM range, so each plan comes with a data cap. Reference plans start at CAD 10 in a small size and a larger one. Sellers that do offer unlimited plans set out a fair use limit beside the claim: full-speed data up to a set amount, then slower speeds to the end of the cycle, with no overage fees.
How long is the plan valid and can I add more data?+
Validity is set for a long trip rather than a fixed holiday week, so the same plan can carry several stops. Top-ups are available when the allowance runs short, and no overage charges are added if usage passes the cap. Instant activation is one of the listed features (5g and instant activation), so setup needs no waiting period.
Who sells it and how do I get help?+
Freedom Mobile sells as a carrier, with the legal entity named as Videotron Ltd., doing business as Freedom Mobile, so the account stays with the company that issued the eSIM. Help runs through help centre and phone, giving a phone line and a help centre rather than a third-party seller to chase.
