How Emtel compares

Frequently asked questions

How much does an Emtel travel eSIM cost?+

Entry pricing starts at €30 for the tourist pack, and reference rates vary by destination: the same allowance is listed at MUR 601 in Europe, MUR 603.85 in Japan and MUR 1,131.21 in the United States.

Is the data on Emtel plans unlimited?+

Unlimited data appears in the unlimited data, 5g and instant activation list, and the Mauritius tourist SIM is sold with unlimited data over a set validity rather than a fixed allowance. The other reference rates are priced per allowance, so the plan you pick decides the shape of the deal.

How many countries does an Emtel eSIM cover?+

Does Emtel offer 5G?+

Yes. 5G is listed for the travel range, alongside unlimited data and instant activation, and all three appear in the unlimited data, 5g and instant activation list. It is also a common feature across the site, where 72.5% of plans carry it.

How do I get help from Emtel?+

Who runs Emtel and where is it based?+

Can I top up an Emtel plan while I am travelling?+

Top-ups are available, so a plan does not have to end with the trip. The tourist pack is aimed at short trip, which suits quick breaks, and top-ups keep data running if plans change. Destination rates differ, with MUR 1,131.21 in the United States against MUR 601 in Europe.

How does Emtel compare with cheaper eSIM brands?+

Emtel starts at €30, above the site median of €5. Budget options sit lower, with eSIMGo.is priced from $0.99 and SimToIsrael from $25. Emtel asks more at the entry point and gives back reach and unlimited data.
