Our verdict

Djezzy is an Algerian carrier plan for travellers on a regional trip, with roaming bundles from DZD 1,000 and a footprint of 9 covered countries. It suits people staying inside that regional circle on a short break or a longer stay, and it falls short for anyone crossing continents.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Top-ups are available, so an allowance can be added during the trip rather than all bought up front.
  • 5G is offered, and the plans are sold by a carrier rather than a marketplace seller.
  • Support runs on chat and phone, covering both chat and phone.
  • A carrier with legal entity Optimum Telecom Algerie S.P.A, trading since 2001.

Cons

  • Unlimited data is not offered, so every bundle runs out at a set allowance.
  • Coverage of 9 countries is narrow next to Zwitchy at 200.
  • The scope is marked as regional, so trips to other continents need a different plan.

Who it suits

  • Travellers whose whole regional itinerary sits inside Djezzy's 9 covered countries.
  • Short-trip buyers who want a single carrier plan and can top up if they stay longer.
  • People who want 5G plus chat and phone support from the carrier itself.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Anyone crossing continents: Zwitchy covers 200 countries, well beyond Djezzy's 9.
  • Price-led multi-country shoppers: eSIMGo.is lists from $0.99, worth setting against Djezzy's DZD 1,000.
  • Travellers whose plans centre on a single market: SimToIsrael is sold from $25 as a local option.

Where it works

Djezzy covers 9 countries, names Mobily as a partner network and marks the scope as regional. That regional shape fits a trip held inside one part of the world rather than a multi-continent route, where a wider catalogue would serve better. 5G is offered, though real speeds depend on what each visited market has built.

The company behind it

Djezzy is run by Optimum Telecom Algerie S.P.A, based in Algeria and trading since 2001. It sells as a carrier, so the roaming bundles are its own rather than resale from a marketplace. Support runs on chat and phone, covering chat and phone, and the same company handles the top-ups for each bundle.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Djezzy roaming plan cost?+

Entry pricing sits at DZD 1,000 for the smallest regional bundle, and reference prices climb with data and validity. A United States bundle is listed at DZD 5,000, well above the entry figure, so budget for the destination actually being visited.

Which countries does Djezzy cover?+

Djezzy lists 9 covered countries, names Mobily as a partner network and marks the scope as regional. The regional label suits a trip that stays inside one area, while multi-continent itineraries need broader coverage.

Is there an unlimited data plan?+

Unlimited data is not offered. Every listed bundle carries a set allowance, so a heavy user can reach the cap inside the validity window and buy the next bundle. That fits ordinary browsing and navigation rather than constant streaming.

Does Djezzy offer 5G?+

5G is offered, and the plans are sold as a carrier plan rather than a marketplace eSIM. Real speeds still depend on what the visited market has built, so the 5G label does not promise 5G in every one of the 9 covered countries.

What support can I reach?+

Support runs on chat and phone, so a question can go out by chat or by phone. For a quick fix or a longer call about an active bundle, the same carrier handles the enquiry and the top-up.

Can I top up while travelling?+

Top-ups are available, which suits a trip running past the first bundle. Plans are listed for short trips and long trips, so more data can be added during the stay rather than buying the largest allowance before departure.

Who runs Djezzy?+

Djezzy is operated by Optimum Telecom Algerie S.P.A, based in Algeria and trading since 2001. It sells as a carrier, so the roaming bundles come from the network operator rather than a reseller, and top-ups stay with the same company.

Which bundle suits a short trip?+

The entry bundle at DZD 1,000 suits a short visit, and reference prices step up in data and validity for longer stays. Plans are labelled for short trips and long trips, so match the bundle to the length of the stay rather than buying the largest by default.
