Frequently asked questions
How much does a Digital Republic travel eSIM cost?+
Entry travel eSIMs start at CHF 13, above the site median of €5. The published tariff overview prices roaming data by zone, with the EU and the USA both listed at CHF 35. So expect a mid-range entry price rather than the cheapest on the site.
Is the data really unlimited?+
Unlimited data is offered, and it appears on the feature list, unlimited data, 5g and instant activation. The fair use policy is the catch: the service is meant for private or business use at the usual and average extent, and excessive use can lead to speed limiting or blocking without notice.
Which countries are covered and which network runs the eSIM?+
Coverage spans from 100 countries, with Sunrise named as the network and the region reading as global. One plan then suits a multi-country trip rather than a single market, and Sunrise is the only carrier named, which is worth checking against your destinations before you buy.
Can I use the eSIM in a router or share it as a hotspot?+
Hotspot sharing is not offered, and the fair use policy says mobile subscriptions may not be used in mobile routers or other devices, with only the Flat data tariffs allowed in a router. The plans target short trips, short trip, so expect phone and tablet use rather than shared connections.
How do I activate the eSIM and add more data later?+
Activation is instant and top-ups are available, both listed on the feature list, unlimited data, 5g and instant activation. That suits a traveller who wants data working on landing without visiting a store. Digital Republic is a mobile virtual network operator, mvno, and the eSIM sits alongside a carrier plan.
Who is Digital Republic aimed at?+
The audience is short trips, short trip, and the company sits in Switzerland, CH, operating as Digital Republic AG. It is a good match for a holiday or a short business trip where one global plan replaces juggling several local SIMs, and 5G is supported.
How do I get help if the eSIM fails?+
Support runs on email, phone and help centre, covering email, phone and a help centre. Phone support matters when a connection fails abroad, and a help centre gives answers in writing. The legal entity behind the brand is Digital Republic AG. Reach the team before departure if setup looks complicated.
How does it compare with cheaper eSIM sellers?+
Digital Republic starts at CHF 13, above the site median of €5. eSIMGo.is lists an entry price of $0.99 and Zwitchy covers 200 countries, so the trade-off is paying more for a Swiss carrier plan, top-ups and support by phone.
