Our verdict

Pros and cons
Pros
- Regional and global options (regional and global) cover 134 countries
- Top-ups are available, so data can be added to an existing line
- Activation is instant and the plan runs as a carrier plan (instant activation and carrier plan)
- Reference prices are published by destination zone, so the cost of a trip is clear before booking
Cons
- 5G is not among its listed features (instant activation and carrier plan)
- Unlimited data is not among its listed features (instant activation and carrier plan)
- Included roaming is capped at a consecutive stretch abroad, with Chile excepted, and the service can be suspended for use well above the average daily use of similar customers
Who it suits
- Travellers on a short trip out of Argentina who want to keep their own line
- People heading for Europe, Turkey, Japan or Thailand who want a zone plan with a stated allowance
- Travellers who would rather top up an existing Claro Argentina line than install anything before departure
Who should look elsewhere
- Zwitchy, at 200 countries covered, if reach abroad matters more than staying on a carrier line
- eSIMGo.is, where travel eSIMs start at $0.99 for people buying before departure
- SimToIsrael, where plans start at $25 and the trip centres on Israel
What data costs
Plans are priced by zone, starting at ARS 45,320 for the small packages aimed at Uruguay and Paraguay. Different allowances are listed for Mexico, the US block, Europe, Turkey, Japan and Thailand, and a worldwide package with the largest allowance sits at the top of the range. The zone you pick matters more to the bill than the length of the trip.

Frequently asked questions
How much does roaming data cost with Claro Argentina?+
Plans start at ARS 45,320 for the small packages aimed at Uruguay and Paraguay. Different allowances are listed for Mexico, the US block and Europe, and the European and Turkish package costs ARS 84,995. Larger allowances for Japan, Thailand and worldwide travel sit above that.
How many countries does Claro Argentina roaming cover?+
Coverage reaches 134 countries, and the range is sold as regional and global (regional and global). A regional plan targets a zone such as Europe, Turkey, Japan and Thailand or the US block, while a worldwide package covers the widest set of destinations.
Is there unlimited data on Claro Argentina roaming?+
Unlimited data is not among its listed features (instant activation and carrier plan), so every plan carries a stated allowance. Top-ups are available when a trip needs more, and usage far above the average daily use of similar customers can lead to suspension.
How long can I use roaming abroad?+
The plan is aimed at short trips (short trip), and included roaming is capped at a consecutive stretch abroad, with Chile excepted from that cap. A fair use policy also limits the WhatsApp traffic that comes included, so longer stays need a plan built for them.
Does Claro Argentina roaming offer 5G?+
5G is not among its listed features (instant activation and carrier plan), which cover instant activation and a carrier plan. Speeds abroad depend on the network you visit, so a traveller who needs 5G should pick a provider that lists it.
Do I need a new line to use Claro Argentina roaming?+
It is sold as a carrier plan with instant activation (instant activation and carrier plan), so an existing Claro Argentina customer adds roaming to the line they already hold. Top-ups are available on that same line, so the setup is short.
How do I get help with Claro Argentina roaming?+
Support runs on phone and help centre, so a phone line and the help centre cover questions about zones, top-ups and the fair use policy. The provider behind the brand is AMX Argentina S.A., the Argentine carrier entity.
Is Claro Argentina roaming a good fit for a short trip?+
It is built for short trips (short trip) and switches on as soon as you activate, which suits a trip booked at short notice. Coverage of 134 countries means the same line can carry a multi-country trip, and top-ups cover a heavier week.
