Our verdict
Blau.de suits short trips that cross borders inside Europe, with EU roaming included at no extra cost on the Telefonica Germany (O2) network. Roaming packs start at €9.99, so the appeal is the included EU roaming and coverage across from 100 countries rather than the lowest price.

Pros and cons

Frequently asked questions
What do Blau.de roaming packs cost?+
Roaming packs start at €9.99. The regional packs for the US, Japan, Thailand and Turkey share the same monthly price for a set data allowance, and the global Roaming Plus World pack reaches from 100 countries. Mexico is sold inside Roaming Plus World with a shorter validity period.
Is EU roaming included?+
Europe roaming inside the EU is included at no extra cost, and the UK follows domestic terms, so a separate regional pack is rarely needed for a European break. Speed is still capped once the high-speed allowance is used, and EU roaming stays subject to the EU Fair Use Policy on the Telefonica Germany (O2) network.
Which countries does Blau.de cover?+
Roaming reaches from 100 countries, and the mix is both regional and global. The US, Japan, Thailand and Turkey are sold as regional packs, while Roaming Plus World is the wider option. Everything runs on the Telefonica Germany (O2) network.
Is there unlimited data?+
No. Blau.de is a budget provider on the Telefonica Germany (O2) network, but unlimited data is not offered, so every plan is metered. Speed is capped for the rest of the billing month once the high-speed allowance is used, and there are no automatic data renewals. Top-ups are available separately if you need more while away.
Who runs Blau.de?+
Blau.de is an mvno based in Germany and run by Telefonica Germany GmbH & Co. OHG, founded in 2005. It lists 5G support, offers top-ups, and provides support through email, chat and phone, so both phone and written help are available.
Who is Blau.de for?+
The plans target short trip travel, so they suit short breaks rather than long stays, and they work for both regional and global trips. Support runs on email, chat and phone, and the budget approach keeps the entry point simple at €9.99.
How does the price compare with other providers?+
Plans start at €9.99, which sits above the €5 median across the site and places Blau.de at position 214 of 313 brands on that measure. The included EU roaming is the part that can offset the higher entry price.
Does Blau.de support 5G?+
Yes, 5G is supported, and the Telefonica Germany (O2) network carries the plans. Coverage spans from 100 countries, with regional packs for the US, Japan, Thailand and Turkey alongside the wider Roaming Plus World option, so a single account can follow a multi-country trip.
