Pros and cons
Pros
- EU and EEA home plan allowances roam at home rates, so no travel add-on for that leg
- A Croatia option with unlimited data at €9.99, subject to a fair use policy
- Daily travel tariffs for the US, UK, UAE, Serbia and North Macedonia, on a plan you keep after the trip
- Support runs on email, chat and phone, and top-ups are available
Cons
- Coverage is 5 countries, so a long haul trip falls short
- The Croatia unlimited option slows sharply once a monthly allowance is used up, and the daily tariff slows to a crawl after a small daily allowance
- A default financial safeguard applies, and reaching the higher safeguard stops roaming data
Who it suits
- Travellers on an EU or EEA home plan who want allowances to roam at home rates
- Short trips to Croatia, Serbia or North Macedonia where a local partner network is enough
- People who prefer a carrier plan with top-ups over a marketplace bundle
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone covering many countries in one trip, where Zwitchy at 200 countries is the safer pick
- Travellers who want a one-off data purchase at the entry price eSIMGo.is charges from $0.99
- Data-heavy visitors to the US, UK or UAE who will hit the daily tariff fair use limit

Frequently asked questions
What does A1 Slovenija cost to start?+
Plans run from €9.99. A Croatia unlimited data option is priced at €9.99, and daily travel tariffs for the US, UK, UAE, Serbia and North Macedonia include a small daily data allowance.
Which countries does the plan cover?+
Coverage spans 5 countries, drawing on partner networks that include Vodafone, O2 and Orange. EU and EEA home plan allowances roam at home rates, so a trip inside the bloc needs no travel add-on.
Is the data truly unlimited?+
The Croatia option carries unlimited data, but a fair use policy applies. After a monthly allowance is used the speed drops sharply, so the allowance is generous rather than endless in practice. The option is listed at €9.99.
What happens on a daily travel tariff if I use a lot of data?+
On the daily travel tariff, speed drops once a small daily allowance is used, and the cap is tight by design. The tariff suits browsing, maps and messaging rather than streaming or large downloads while you are away.
Could I run up a surprise bill?+
A financial safeguard is set by default and can be raised, which is the point of it. Reaching the higher safeguard stops roaming data, so the cap protects you from usage you did not plan for. Support runs on email, chat and phone if you need to change it.
Who is this plan aimed at?+
It is built for short trips and longer trips alike, aimed at A1 Slovenija subscribers who want their home allowance to follow them. The audience fits short trip and long trip, and EU and EEA home plan allowances roam at home rates, which is the main reason to pick it.
How do I get help while I am abroad?+
Support runs on email, chat and phone, so you can reach the carrier by phone, chat, email or its help centre. Top-ups are available if you run low during a trip, and the legal entity behind the plan is A1 Slovenija d.d..
Is 5G included?+
A1 Slovenija offers 5G, and unlimited data, 5G and a carrier plan are listed among unlimited data, 5g and carrier plan. Network quality abroad depends on the partner network you land on in each country, and on 5G being available there.
