4ka review

Roaming packs start at €5, and travel passes are priced by data allowance and the number of days you buy. Coverage runs to Europe including Switzerland, Serbia and Turkey, Greenland, Canada and the USA, and Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. The UK, Ukraine and Moldova roam at home rates under the SLOBODA plans.

Unlimited data is listed for home use in Slovakia, and the fair use policy caps how much of it can be used in the EU. Shared plans carry a smaller allowance at home and across the EU, with extra data sold on top. Read that cap before a long EU trip. The roaming map runs to 18 countries.

Roaming reaches 18 countries, grouped into zones with different terms. The UK, Ukraine and Moldova sit at home rates under the SLOBODA plans, while Mexico, Japan and Thailand bill per MB on their own zone rates. Check the zone list for your destination before buying a pass.

5G is available, and it appears in the feature list unlimited data, 5g and instant activation alongside instant activation and a carrier plan. The generation you get in another country follows the visited network's own coverage as much as the phone in your hand.

Support runs on phone, chat and help centre. Phone suits a roaming problem that blocks data on arrival, chat handles quick questions while a plan is active, and the help centre carries the zone lists and fair use rules in writing.

It is built for existing Slovak subscribers, because the unlimited data and the home rate roaming both come through a plan held with SWAN, a.s. Anyone already on that plan can add roaming across 18 covered countries before departure.

Top-ups are available, so a plan that runs low mid trip can be topped up rather than replaced. In Mexico, Japan and Thailand the zone rates bill per MB, so topping up there adds data at the per MB rate. Bundled passes cover the 18 countries on the roaming list.

4ka is the travel and roaming brand of SWAN, a.s., a Slovak carrier founded in 2015. It is the operator rather than a resale marketplace, so the roaming packs, the help centre and the phone desk all come from the same company.
